I styled and shot my first ‘Trash The Dress’ shoot yesterday. I made a berry and leaf head wreath with pine cones and used some vintage (my Nan’s in fact) mink shawl to go around Jessica’s neck to add a warm woodland vibe…I did shoot it in the woods after all. I will be writing more on this but here is a close up shot. Kelly Jane MUA did her make up exactly how I asked with deep berry lips and warm golden eye-shadow I absolutely love this make-up look and knew it would be perfect for this shoot and the surroundings, wine red lips are bang on trend for this season. Keep your eyes peeled for more of my images of this shoot. I have been playing around with edits but I have just offset the exposure here and added a slight warm filter.

A couple of weeks ago I photographed an intimate family wedding in Chesterfield here is one of the images. I wasn’t with the couple all day but just enough to capture some special moments. There are more on my facebook page if you would like to take a look.
Do you like black and white images with a bit of popping colour? I was discussing this with a customer last week. I am photographing his wedding and I found out he was a photographer too so I ask him his opinion, he was honest and said he finds that personally he finds they can look tacky…and I have to say I totally agree with him. However some people love them and I always do one as an option. He did say however he liked my image below as it was delicately done and not just a strong block of one colour and the rest black and white (of course he would say that while I was there hehe )
The Graingers actually live on my estate and I was thrilled when Sarah contacted me for an outdoor family shoot, they are such a lovely caring family and I think this shines through on the photographs. I was delighted when Yee my best friend from Junior school asked me to be her wedding photographer. I had not seen her in seven years since last Saturday when I met her and her lovely husband at Hardwick Inn to discuss timing and details about their big day in October. We took some photos that will be used on their wedding day. Their day will be a mix of traditional English and traditional Chinese cultures with a red and Gold theme. With 3 bridal dress changes, a Chinese tea ceremony and a gold bridesmaid dress It’s going to be awesome. Yee and Jezz are getting married at Breadsall Priory to see more pre wedding photos click here
